"Alter ego/ opposites"
When thinking about who may be my opposite, I recall many people pointing out how different my little brother Hubert and I are from each other. While my greatest passion is for the visual arts, his lies in cars. With the theme of alter ego/opposites and venturing in a completely unfamiliar territory, I decided to create a menswear collection inspired by cars to convey the message of buckling up for a not necessarily smooth, but thrilling experience.

The idea of the collection is to venture in a completely different path from my usual aesthetics: feminine and cultural womenswear to masculine and mechanical menswear. Majority of my research stems from analyzing characteristics of my brother and cars in general. I took the aesthetics of cars as my main visual inspiration for my collection. I also looked at car magazines and created collages for preliminary designs. For the flats, I selected an item of clothing from each look and hand-drawn them with ink.
